Dave Bautista wants a return to the James Bond franchise

"Guardians Of The Galaxy" star Dave Bautista has revealed that he’s seriously hoping for a return to the 007 franchise after portraying villainous henchman Mr Hinx in "Spectre" (2015).

The former wrestler, who plays Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel sequel, "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2", showed his nasty side as he grappled with Daniel Craig in the most recent Bond movie, released in 2015, but despite being thrown from a train by Daniel Craig’s super-spy, Bautista is seriously hoping that there’s a future for the character.

‘Yeah! Believe me we’re talking about it a lot. We’re waiting at home with our fingers crossed’, he exclusively told at the "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" European premiere.

However, he thinks that a return is hinging on one thing – the widely speculated future of Daniel Craig as 007.

Suspense! Mystery! Intrigue! Bill Nighy! Martin Freeman! British stuff!

From the duo that brought us uproarious zombie-com Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz is Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg’s masterful turn at the cop farce, complete with their trademark irreverence, black wit, and delightfully extra martial arts sequences. Concurrently skewering and homaging both British spy thrillers and those American action blockbusters where everything blows up, Hot Fuzz will have your sides split and your nails bit by act three!

It’s a 2000s comedy staple that is perfect a la carte – but perhaps best enjoyed while, shall we say, elevated – so let’s celebrate Hot Fuzz‘s 10th anniversary with some 4/20 hoopla courtesy of the haziest cinema in LA! Q&A to follow with director Edgar Wright and Timothy Dalton, moderated by Jordan Peele.

Bond book appearanceNever Dream of Dying (2001)
Experience of 007 Travelers: @ home

”Bond ordered them two kir royales made with champagne and crème de cassis for aperitifs and then took a moment to enjoy looking at her fresh, vibrant face. He hadn’t realised how long her eyelashes were until now.”

Raymond Benson: "Never Dream of Dying" (2001)

Kir Royal is a French cocktail, a variation on Kir. It consists of crème de cassis topped with champagne, rather than the white wine used in traditional Kir. The apéritif is typically served in a flute glass. (wikipedia)

Peter Roos
Kino Ritz Vaasa

Pirita & Mika / 007 Travelers

Meille oli varattu mediapaikat, josta meillä oli mahdolllisimman hyvä näkyvyys lavalle, järjestelyistä suuri kiitos kapellimestari Peter Roosille.

Peter Roos

Loppuunmyyty konsertti alkoi klo 20.00, ja nämä Bond-teemakappaleet kuultiin:

(Sovitus: Tobias Udd )

Kellon tullessa 20.00 alkoi lavalla tapahtua. Kurikan Soittokunta, Wasa Sinfonietta & Band (Dir. Peter Roos) saapuivat estradille, ja alkoivat soittaa John Barry Orchestran alunperin esittämää Bond-teematunnaria "James Bond Theme" (1963) ensimmäisestä Bond-elokuvasta "Salainen agentti 007 ja tohtori No" (1962).

Kimmo Niemi

Licence to Play-konsertin solistit ovat Pentti Hietanen, Annikka Wiklund, Roosa & Iina Hietanen, Sonja Biskop sekä Andreas Haals. Heidät esitteli Kimmo Niemi.

Pentti Hietanen

Avauksena kuulimme kappaleen "From Russia with Love" (1963), jonka Pentti Hietanen meille upeasti tulkitsi. Alunperin kappaleen esitti John Barry instumentaaliversiona elokuvan alkutekstien aikana. Matt Monron laulettua versiota kuullaan elokuvan aikana ja kokonaisuudessaan lopputekstien tullessa valkokankaalle.

Sonja Biskop

Sonja Biskop tulkitsi loistavalla äänellään Shirley Basseyn kappaleen "Goldfinger" (1964), jonka jälkeen kuulimme Hietasen esittävän "Thunderball" -kappaleen vuodelta 1965. Sen esitti alunperin Walesin tiikeri Sir Tom Jones

Annika Wiklund

Vuorossa oli lavalle valokeilaan saapunut Annika Wiklund, joka lauloi kappaleen "You Only Live Twice" (1967). Kappaleen alkuperäinen esittäjä on Nancy Sinatra.

Roosa Hietanen

Tämän jälkeen kuulimme yhtyeen instrumentalversion The John Barry Orchestran alunperin esittämästä kappaleesta "On Her Majesty´s Secret Service" (1969). Tästä siirryttiin Roosa Hietasen upeaan tulkintaan Shirley Basseyn kappaleesta "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971).

Seuraavaksi oli vuorossa Pentti Hietasen loistava tulkinta Paul McCartney & Wingsin kappaleesta "Live and Let Die" (1973), josta tuli suorastaan kylmiä väreitä.

Hieman kesken "Live and Let Dien" siirryttiin lennosta Annika Wiklundin esittämään Lulun kappaleeseen "The Man with the Golden Gun" (1974).

Järjestyksessä seuraavat Bond-kappaleet olivat vuodelta 1977 "Nobody Does It Better", (Carly Simon) joka on tunnuskappaleena elokuvassa "007 - rakastettuni", sekä vuodelta 1979 "Moonraker" (Shirley Bassey) elokuvasta "Kuuraketti", jotka molemmat esitti Sonja Biskop.

Sitten kuultiin Roosa Hietasen laulamana "For Your Eyes Only" (1981), joka on alunperin Sheena Eastonin esittämä kappale, sekä vuodelta 1983 "Octopussy - mustekala"-elokuvan tunnuskappale "All Time High", (Rita Coolidge) Annika Wiklundin esittämänä, jonka jälkeen oli väliaika.

Andreas Haals

Tauon jälkeen Andreas Haals veti upean version Duran Duranin biisistä "A View to a Kill" (1985) elokuvasta "007 ja kuoleman katse" ja Pentti Hietanen esitti A-ha:n "The Living Daylights" (1987) elokuvasta "007 vaaran vyöhykkeellä".

Iina Hietanen

Sitten kuultiin Gladys Knight:n "Licence to Kill" (1989) Sonja Biskopin esittämänä, Iina Hietasen loistava tulkinta Tina Turnerin "GoldenEye" kappaleesta (1995) sekä Sheryl Crow:n "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997) - biisistä.

Ennen Andreas Haalsin esittämää versiota Garbagen "The World Is Not Enough" (1999) - kappaleesta, kuulimme lyhyen instrumentaaliversion Madonnan "Die Another Day" (2002) - biisistä.

Kuulimme huipputulkinnan Pentti Hietaselta vuoden 2006 elokuvan "Casino Royale", alunperin Chris Cornellin esittämästä tunnuskappaleesta "You Know My Name".

Sitten suurenmoinen duetto vuorossa, kun Roosa ja Iina Hietanen lauloivat vuoden 2008 elokuvan "007 Quantum Of Solace" tunnuskappaleen "Another Way to Die". Dueton esittivät alunperin Jack White & Alicia Keys.

Ilta oli tullut vaiheeseen, jossa Sonja Biskop esitti Adelen vuoden 2012 kappaleen "Skyfall", joka on tietysti teemakappale samannimiselle elokuvalle "007 Skyfall". Taustalla lauloivat Andreas Haals ja Annika Wiklund. Kappale saikin yleisöltä huikeat aplodit.

Tämän jälkeen loppuhuipennuksena Hietasen tytöt Roosa ja Iina esittivät "007 SPECTRE" (2015) -elokuvaan tunnuskappaleeksi valitun Sam Smithin "Writing´s On The Wall".

Encorena kuultiin solistien yhteislaulun "Licence to Kill"-kappaleesta versioitu "Licence to Play".

Keikan jälkeen 007 Travelers tapasi Licence to Play-solistit, jotka kirjoittivat meille nimmarit.

Pentti Hietanen antoi myös haastattelun. Lue se täältä.
